Living the simple life

I am Goth by nature, a carer by choice and a crafter by habit. living the Old Style way, spending less and making what I can myself. I follow Money Saving Expert and NYK forum avidly and am working to be debt free.

I shop wisely as every penny counts, my stock cupboard is my solution to any problem.

My home is full of craft stuff and I love making things for my grandson Michael and grand- daughter Bethany who are the reason I get up everyday. My kids are the best in the world and I thank them for being there for me and John

Margaret's blankie

Here are some of my makes so far. the throw for Margaret and the hearts and stockings for various friends

Plans afoot

This is the reason I am so busy! Making Christmas extra special this year for little man! Just off to find the red wool for his snowmans hat then find the Santa who needs a beard and we have it partly sorted.

Chutney is simmering away - bargain onions so I had to find a use for them. Few mustard seeds, olive oil and black pepper and we are on our way. Need a few provisions next for chilli jam for his daddy and thats his hamper nearly done.

Making a hamper for Carrie too with all sorts of lush things in it and a few practical things for the car too.

Am waiting for jenni's bracelet bits to arrive then I can make that up, but want a nice box for it, so am hoping to get to Hobbycraft, need some polystyrene wreath bases for a fab crochet wreath I saw .

One throw already made for sister-in-law but have one to do for Jen too and have not started that yet. Need a quick trip to a big Asda for some nice bits and bobs I saw in the catologue and theres another few pressies sorted.
